Ranupani's Decisive Step Wins the Best of the Best Category
Good news comes from Malang State University (UM) student, Robby Ainu Fikry. The student of the Department of Art and Design (Sedesa) UM managed to win the title of Best of the Best in the general category at the 2018 PLN Video Competition "Electricity Makes My Day". Robby received an invitation from the State Electricity Company (PLN) to announce the winners as well as the awarding of prizes at the New Electricity and Energy Museum (MLEB), Jakarta on Monday (28/01). There are three stages of judging that were passed before Robby's work came out as the best. In the first phase, 127 of the 776 works in Indonesia were taken. Mohammad Rivai Riza, the film director and producer was selected as a jury in stage two to select ten works. The third stage, all selected contestants come to MLEB to announce the winners and give their appreciation.
The film entitled Ranupani's Decisive Steps tells the progress of Ranupani's development since the existence of electricity. Robby said, since the arrival of electricity, access to transportation and economic growth in Ranupani has also improved, from asphalt roads, street lighting, to the flourishing of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) fields in Ranupani. After giving up his mind, Robby finally made up his mind to take part in the competition ten days before the deadline.
Accompanied by his younger sibling who is still in junior high school (SMP), with limited determination and finances, Robby visited Ranupani. There he met Imam Chodri, S.Pd., the elder of Ranupani Village. Robby emphasized that Imam Chodri was chosen as a resource person because of his strong influence in Ranupani. "What makes my film alive is Mr. Imam Chodri, there is a moral message, he is very clever, he speaks well," explained Robby.
It took three days for the shooting process and the rest for the image editing process. Partial color blindness gives Robby a hard time. Luckily, there is the figure of Lila Nur Aini, a Library Science student who can complement Robby's shortcomings. All things regarding designs, photos and videos that have to do with color were corrected and input by Lila.
Robby's track record is also quite brilliant. He has recorded several achievements, including: 2nd place in the 2016 Sympathy Kickfest Video, Winner of the 2017 Kediri Regency Tourism Video, 1st Place in the 2017 Simpati Kickfest Video, 1st Place in the 2018 Kickfest Sympathy Video, and 3rd Place in the Java Video Competition Timur Park Group 2018. "Believe in yourself, believe in your abilities and maximize your limitations" as a trigger for Robby to continue working and be of benefit to others. Robby's message is, don't be pessimistic about seeing a work that feels higher, because having the courage to start is the key that can prove your ability. Irkhamin
