Entrepreneurial Incubation through Entrepreneur Day
Student Entrepreneurship Program (PMW) State University of Malang (UM) successfully held Entrepreneur Day for the second time. The event which was held on (9/4) at the Graha Cakrawala UM field was attended by 169 teams consisting of various faculties with their own unique businesses. According to Andreas Syah Pahlevi, S.Sn., M.Sn, Chair of the Entrepreneur Day Committee, this year the enthusiasm of UM students was extraordinary. "This year it is increasing, huh. I also did not expect that the enthusiasm of students would be extraordinary for this event, it was proven that the enthusiasm of UM students in the field of entrepreneurship was increasing every year, "he said.
The team registered in Entrepreneur Day this time has gone through the faculty level selection process. There are special requirements that must be met by the team, for example an entrepreneurial team that is not a reseller and the business has been running for at least six months. In his speech, UM Vice Rector III, Dr. Mu'arifin, M.Pd. said, "A good entrepreneur is an entrepreneur who is sensitive to the environment." This is certainly in line with the expectations of the committee and PMW developer lecturers in this year's Entrepreneur Day.
The jury in Entrepreneur Day this time was taken from the PMW UM developer lecturer and in collaboration with Malang Creative Fusion. The assessments conducted include product excellence, business management, and business sustainability assurance. The winner of this event will be UM representatives to advance to the Indonesian Student Business Competition (KBMI). Not only that, Nominees 25-30 will also receive funding assistance from MUs ranging from IDR 3 million to IDR 8 million per team. In addition to assessments from PMW and Malang Creative Fusion developer lecturers, there were also assessments from visitors and votes via Instagram for certain categories. The assessment is to win the category of favorite booth, best stand, attractive poster, most unique product, and coolest vlog.
Great enthusiasm did not only come from the participants, but also from visitors and students. This is evident from the crowd of visitors from evening to night. The committee also provides entertainment for visitors and participants. This entertainment program was filled with representatives from each faculty and performances from Stand Up Indo Malang. The performances added to the excitement of the event that day.
"Actually, our expectation as the committee is that students are able to promote products only, but it turns out that the income earned by students is quite a lot. In fact, there are booths that can reach Rp. 3 million to Rp. 4 million in one day," said Andreas. This is certainly very encouraging. Moreover, the hope of the committee, participants are not only good at entrepreneurship, but also educators. The aim is that UM students are able to create jobs and recruit workers.
The event was closed by the appearance of Stand Up Indo Malang and the announcement of the winners of each category. The Best Poster Category was won by Halter Coffe, Tani Relatives, and Uwu Rice Bowl. The Most Unique Products Category was won by Bommi Watches Wood, Plucea, and Erro Project. The best booth category was won by Mosu.ed, Kids Movement Indonesia, and Oke Dekor. As for the coolest vlog category based on likes via Instagram with the title Excitement !! "A good business is one that is started, developed and continues to be carried out, because many have started a business but have not continued it," said Andreas to all students who are about to become entrepreneurs.
