Welcoming new graduates, IKA UM Holds a Job Fair and Entrepreneur Expo 2019
The Malang State University Alumni Association (IKA UM) together with UM Student Affairs successfully held a 2019 Job Fair and Entrepreneur Expo. This event was held considering the increase in the number of UM graduates each year reaching 4000 people. The more the number of alumni increases, the more challenges it will face. "IKA UM as a forum for alumni cooperation in order to develop the alma mater seeks to facilitate these graduates with the needs of the world of work, one of which is by holding UM Job Fair and Entrepreneur Expo activities," said the chairman. general management of IKA UM center, Prof. Dr. Ainin, M.Pd.
This activity was attended by 22 companies including Epson, Alterra, BCA Finance, Bukopin, and Kalbe. More than 4000 job seekers participated in this event, which came from various educational institutions ranging from SMA / SMK, Diploma, Undergraduate to Postgraduate level. The series of events held for two days (17-18 / 07) brought together several large companies such as those held in Campus Hiring and recruitment at FIF Group (PT. Astra Members), Guest Lecture Campus Hiring and recruitment by PT Epson at H5 Faculty Building. UM Engineering, and Campus Hiring by PT Kalbe in the UM library hall.
In addition to facilitating UM graduates and society in general, this activity also assists government programs in reducing the number of unemployed by bringing together job providers with job seekers directly. The job fair and entrepreneurial expo this time gave opportunities to young entrepreneurs from UM, especially alumni of the Student Creativity Program and Entrepreneurial Student Program (PKM and PMW) to participate in promoting their products. In yesterday's activity, one of the PKM teams from the UM Faculty of Letters who had the storybook product "Lala Lilo" participated to enliven the event.
At the job fair and entrepreneur expo, information on S2 and S3 scholarships in the country is also carried out in the Scholarship Expo program. This year's activities are integrated between promotions, presentations, exhibitions, free consultations, entrepreneurial exhibitions, scholarships, and company recruitment. "This event really helps new UM graduates to find work. The enthusiasm of the participants could not be contained since the event opened at 09.00 and closed at 16.00 WIB.
