Indonesia is expected to experience a demographic bonus in 2045. Departing from this statement, Saturday (14/09) the Campus 3 Student Activities Coordinator (KKM 3) held a national education seminar which presented several speakers, including Dr. Dra. Hj. Umi Dayati, M.Pd., Prof. Dr. H. Zainuddin, M.Pd., and Yauma Bahru Isnaini, S.Pd. The seminar was entitled "Strategies for Character Educators to Meet the Demographic Bonus Towards a Golden Indonesia 2045".
"Productive young generations are expected to be able to take advantage of their productive age by carrying out productive activities so that Indonesia will be able to reach its gold in 2045," explained the Head of the Executive, Sigit Wibowo. According to the student of the Elementary School Education Department, character is the main thing that must be possessed by educators. That way they will be able to educate and give birth to a generation with character to meet this demographic bonus. Message from the Head of the Elementary School Education Department, Dr. H. Sutarno, M.Pd. and the performance of the Asmaradhana dance opened the seminar which took place in the campus hall 3.
Professor of the Faculty of Education (FIP) UM, Zainuddin explained that Indonesia is expected to become a developed country in the world. Therefore, higher order thinking skills are required and decision making must be continuously honed. A teacher must be smart (quickly and accurately absorb information, knowledge, and lots of references, ed.), Smart, creative, and innovative. "Intelligent people really understand a person's character, rich in experience," said the professor who is also the Chancellor of the Nahdlatul Ulama University (UNU) Blitar. Furthermore, Zainuddin explained that being diligent in studying and having a lot of knowledge is not enough. One must also be creative and intelligent so that the knowledge they have can be applied properly. "Don't forget to be a smart person, someone who is active in activities," he ordered 270 participants consisting of students, principals, lecturers, and teachers from kindergarten to high school.
Not much different from Zainuddin, Umi Dayati explained that the ability to communicate, critical thinking and problem solving, creative, and innovative is very important to have in facing the demographic bonus. Elementary and early childhood teachers become figures who play a role in shaping children's character. "The Golden Age forms that character until elementary school," said the FIP UM lecturer who is also a motivator at the ASEAN level. "Make yourself have branding. You don't need to worry about the demographic bonus, ”he said.
In line with Umi, Runner Up 2 Duta Genre Indonesia 2017, Yauma Bahru said that in facing the demographic bonus, young people must maximize their potential. There are three steps E that need to be taken, namely related to education, engagement and employment. These three points are improving the quality of education in terms of soft skills and hard skills, increasing participation in activities, and creating new jobs. "I know how to deal with the demographic bonus in 2045. Alhamdulillah, I got a lot of new insights," said Isma, one of the seminar participants. "There is no need to be afraid of facing the demographic bonus in 2045, the important thing is to continue to develop the ability to enter the world of work and society." Diah
