AZIZAH: FACING THE CHALLENGES FOR ACHIEVEMENT
Students of the Department of Mathematics, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) Malang State University (UM) have successfully achieved national achievements at the event organized by the Central Indonesian Mathematics Student Association (Ikahimatika) at Gorontalo State University (UNG), Wednesday (11 / 03). Achievements came from Azizah Nur Laily Rahmawati, Muhammad Arif Wahyudi, and Rifki Diva Riyanto who were supervised by Nur Atikah, S.Si, M.Si. The three of them managed to win the 1st place in the Ikahimatika Indonesia National Scientific Writing Competition (LKTIN) 2020. "Sincere and full of meaning, there are many obstacles that make us think that we will continue this competition or not. Given the implementation date that clashed with the Mid-Semester Examination (UTS), it also happened that we as a team were members of the BEM FMIPA UM Education House which of course at certain times had to carry out a work program. However, due to mutual strengthening and encouragement, we were finally able to present scientific papers smoothly, "said Azizah.
LKTIN Ikahimatika Indonesia 2020 is a series of Ikahimatika Congress events which are attended by all universities in Indonesia. Of the dozens of participants in the abstract round, teams from UM passed to compete with 30 other teams for sending full papers. The next stage, namely eliminating several teams to become 18 finalists who had the opportunity to present their papers in the final round. In this finalist presentation round, each team must present their work for 10 minutes in front of the 6 judges, then ask and answer questions for 5 minutes, after which they are screened again to become winners with 6 categories, best presentation, and best paper.
"Approximately 2 weeks before the competition, we have submitted funds to the faculty for funding for departure to Gorontalo, because airplane tickets are quite expensive. Until H-min, a few hours of departure was finally funded by the faculty to keep struggling in presenting the scientific work that had been designed by our team. Finally we arrived in Gorontalo on the D-day, in just a matter of minutes our team took the lottery. Arriving late but going first, whether you want it or not, ready or not, you must be ready in all the risks given to the participants who advance first, "he explained when interviewed about the three struggles to win the race.
Azizah also hopes that the role of the younger generation will be necessary to realize the ideals of the nation by keeping up with the times in terms of the Industrial Revolution 4.0. Remain dedicated and implement the learning outcomes that have been obtained, to be developed again in various aspects primarily to improve the quality of education as well as the goals of the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDg'S).
