FT UM Students Won Best Crousel Category UNYSEF
Students of the Faculty of Engineering (FT) State University of Malang (UM) are reaping achievements in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic. Achievements came from Fajar Ananda Saputra, Desti Eka Sintyaningrum, and Ilman Kamil, who was accompanied by Electrical Engineering lecturer Irawan Dwi Wahyono, ST, M.Kom, successfully won the Category Best Crousel at the National Scientific Writing Competition UNY Scientific Fair (LKTIN UNYSEF) with the theme "The Role of Students in the Industrial Revolution Era 4.0 as Agents of Change Towards Zero Waste Indonesia", on (30/08). "We have planned, set aside money to go to UNY, all exhibition materials are ready as well as the equipment. However, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we canceled going to Yogya. And every week before the virtual exhibition we share stories of experience, knowledge, and even culture in each area of the finalists, "explained Fajar.
The three of them create a product that is made for monitoring garbage on drainage based Internet of Things by method Based on Image Processing, which will be determined at the Piyungan TPS Yogyakarta. This product is the result of the previous product development in the case study in Malang which only monitoring puddles, then developed by providing a camera sensor for the method Image Processing-his. Because this event was different from other events, the research was determined by the committee, namely at TPS Piyungan Yogyakarta.
The struggle to win the Category champion Best Crousel that they went through was not easy, starting from making graphic tools from offline exhibition concepts, online meeting to discuss exhibition graphic design, independent study about 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional design, to the preparation of exhibition content. Fajar also advised the younger generation, especially UM students, "The younger generation is the generation of change. Young people must be innovative and creative in responding to the problems of the nation. Be productive young people even in pandemic conditions. Keep working, make UM progress more, make the nation progress more, so make Indonesia proud, "he said.
