State University of Malang (UM) will enter its 65th year, already mature enough to become a role model university and a reference for education in Indonesia and even internationally. This year UM will celebrate its 65th anniversary or better known as Lustrum XIII, starting from the establishment of UM (IKIP Malang, ed.) On October 18, 1954.

This time, Lustrum XIII raised the theme "Keeping Tradition, Bernas Innovation, Boosting Achievement". according to the narrative of the Chief Executive of Lustrum, Hendra Susanto, S.Pd., M.Kes., Ph.D., the theme referred to the long glorious history of UM since its establishment as IKIP Malang until it transformed into UM since 1999. Maintaining the glorious tradition of IKIP Malang -UM is the main thing for the UM academic community as an effort to maintain UM's spirit (IKIP Malang first, red.). Through this Lustrum XIII activity, UM also needs to continue to maintain a positive track record on the results of innovations, inventions, and other novelty things. This is proof that MUs are based on innovative superior innovation. The theme is expected to be a hallmark for UM so that it continues to catapult its achievements in the national and international academic arena. The purpose of Lustrum UM XIII 2019 is none other than introspection and reflection, academic friendship between UM academic community and external parties, UM forum to express performance achievements to the public, and capture the aspirations of external parties to improve UM's dharma, performance, and work.

In welcoming Lustrum XIII UM, several activities were carried out from May 2 to its climax on October 18, 2019. The Lustrum XIII UM 2019 activities were divided into three parts covering academic, non-academic, and launching UM branding.

The launching of Lustrum UM XIII was carried out on (2/5), while the production of UM's new visual branding was carried out in May-August 2019. Inobel months and international conferences were held in September-October 2019. Sports week was held on (7-13 / 10) ) which includes tennis, table tennis, badminton, sand volleyball, aerobics and healthy walking. Not only that, there were also blood donation activities.

The arts and culture week also enlivened Lustrum XII UM on (14-18 / 10) which included entrepreneurship talk shows, 2019 UM campus ambassadors talent shows, Beauty Class with KMUA who were UM alumni, UKM Performing, Art Craft Workshop, talkshow with Putri Indonesia , Ormawa Of The Year and Grand Final of Campus Ambassadors, International Food Festival, Nusantara Festival, Arts and Culture, Fashion Concerto, and selfie photo contests on lustrum spot photos in each faculty.
Apart from cultural arts and sports activities, there are academic activities including scientific oration, awarding, book publishing, and then the arts festival is closed on (17/10). The committees for the anniversary and Lustrum XIII came from students from open volunteers consisting of 46 students, staff from each faculty, BEM University, Paduka UM, and UKM.
