State University of Malang (UM) continues to take part in both academic and non-academic achievements. This time, UM students made achievements in the field of Taekwondo sport. A total of 24 UM athletes won 14 gold medals, 9 silver medals, and 1 bronze medal in the Taekwondo Championship at Surabaya State University, Rector Cup 2020 throughout East Java on (8/2). Not only won medals, the UM team also won General Champion 1 Semi Achievement and Coach Best for Jiehan Meidy AA. The Taekwondo Championships won were in the "Poomsae" and "Kyorugi" categories.

The competition for this Taekwondo championship teaches a lot about the meaning of hard work and respect for time. "Our preparation for the competition was fairly impromptu because we started practicing H-1 before the championship. The minimum preparation for participating in the H-3 month championship. Therefore, we determine the training schedule almost every day, morning and evening by making the most of the time, "said Iffa Maisyaroh, Team Manager. He also expressed his hope for the UM team to continue to take part in the world of non-academic achievements. "Hopefully the UM team can win championships in more prestigious events such as provincial and national sports week with careful preparation. Our incomplete preparations can win the championship especially with careful preparation, "he said.
