Head of UM Badminton UKM, Yusril Argya Maulana, who also represented in the competition, admitted that he was very happy with the achievements in the LIMA selection at the regional level this year. Furthermore, he said that this year was a new history for UKM Badminton after four years of participating in LIMA, especially in the men's team category. "Before the LIMA event, UM badminton UKM had won many championships in certain events that were not less prestigious, but in LIMA this year it was the best achievement of UM badminton UKM." He said proudly. "LIMA has been running for eight years but UM has just joined in its fourth year, and four years of waiting to finally win, especially for the men's team, and for the women's team, thank God, I was able to defend the title last year." Said the physical and health education student with gratitude. Previously, in the LIMA competition, a selection had been made to elect UM representatives which was held by the coach.
The LIMA regional selection which is commonly called the East Java Conference was attended by various other universities in East Java, including Brawijaya University (UB), Malang Islamic University (UNISMA), Malang State Islamic University (UINMA), Airlangga University (UNAIR), Dr. Soetomo (UNITOMO), Surabaya State Islamic University (UNISMA), Petra University, Ciputra University (UC), Surabaya State University (UNESA), Surabaya University (UBAYA), and Surabaya Institute of Technology (ITS). The Student League is actually a multisport event organized by PT Bina Mahasiswa Indonesia. Apart from badminton, other sports that are competed in this event are futsal, football, volleyball and basketball. For badminton, the sport is divided into 4 conferences where the winners of each conference have the right to advance to the national round. Inevitably, from this achievement the UM team also became a regional representative for the national LIMA event, which was originally planned to be held on March 19-28 in Bandung. "But it was postponed because of Covid-19," said Yusril.
Yusril, who will also represent UM at the national level, revealed that he and the team were preparing to be even more active in facing the upcoming matches. "Because LIMA is a prestigious event among students, we have our own targets for this event," he explained.
Furthermore, he hoped that the UM badminton team could get good results in the national LIMA. "For UM badminton UKM members and for other UKMs to continue to excel and bring UM's good name." The message. Diah
